(– This is not a movie review — and I don’t know what this is — hahaha — and this is just from my head…)
Many have been waiting for the third installment of Iron Man, and I am one of them.
The movie premiered last April 24, 2013 (Philippines) nationwide. The latest installment in Marvel’s “Iron Man” series is on track to become the top-grossing movie in the Philippines of all time as it crossed the P500-Million mark after just two weeks in theaters.
According to latest data from website Box Office Mojo, “Iron Man 3” has earned a whopping P503,477,272 in just two weeks after it added P140,177,812 to its total during the May 1-5 period. (Source: http://www.abs-cbnnews.com)
It was featured on Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho (One at Heart, Jessica Soho – #KMJS) where they also interviewed An Iron Man ultimate (Pinoy) collector and Pinoy Cosplayers dressing up as Tony Stark with or without the ‘suit’ on – it just showed how Pinoys came to love Iron Man.

I am not from the generation where Iron Man first made its debut in Marvel Comics — I am also not from the gender that became interested in guy heroes. I am from the generation who came to love Tony Stark / Iron Man when he debuted in the big screen and because Robert Downey Jr. played the title role (I can sense rolling of eyes now.. *Lol*),
And also, I am a fan of GREAT special visual effects and cool soundtracks — which Iron Man 1-3 undeniably executed very well.
So who is Tony Stark and who is Iron Man?
Does Tony Stark makes Iron Man? Or, Iron Man makes Tony Stark?
(Flashback Captain America and Tony Stark’s spat from Avengers –“Steve Rogers: Big man in a suit of armor. Take that off, what are you?
Tony Stark: Genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist.”
In the third movie, Tony Stark continued to build different kinds, versions, upgrades of his suits (the costume) — sensing great danger after New York (Avengers) — that by the mere mention of ” how did you get out of the wormhole?” Or “New York” gives him anxiety attack.
He is about to face a merciless terrorist named The Mandarin, and the threat that he still hasn’t encountered for him to be able to create a solution.
With various killings in different areas, and the accident of his good friend Happy, he gave his home address on national TV that made him vulnerable to threats. But it was no threat that came to visit him, it was a clear intention of inflicting damage to his property and to end his life. Everything was destroyed and sank into deep seawater.
Without his high-end, high-tech Malibu residence, how will he stop the villain?
A super genius guy named Aldrich Killian – The creator of the Extremis virus and the founder of Advanced Idea Mechanics who later revealed himself to be the real Mandarin. Killian develops Extremis to cure his own debilitating disability; in addition to his regenerative healing qualities, he has superhuman strength and the ability to generate extreme heat. Prolonged exposure to Extremis also grants him the ability to breathe fire (Source: Wikipedia). He also created the terrorist attacks as a diversion to camouflage what was really happening – a modern coup d’ etat.
People are getting hot – literally – and they explode, vanishing those within the perimeter and leaving nothing but scorch marks.
It was a science experiment that Tony thought had gone wrong an he must put an end to it.
In order to prevent Iron Man in ruining their goal,they got the one person that is important to him — Pepper Potts.
How would he protect the only person that means the world to him and the many people who are in grave threat all in the same time?
He did not choose, he gathered all the help he can get.
He just did. He saved without choosing. With help from Harley, Pepper, Rhodes and Jarvis.
So going back to my previous question;
Does Tony Stark makes Iron Man?
– Yes. It was Tony Stark who built Iron Man. Without his brilliance to create, improve, update and upgrade, it would be impossible for the suit to become Iron Man.
Does Iron Man makes Tony Stark?
– Yes. Iron Man is not just a suit, with all its capabilities, it protected an entire nation from imminent to impossible threat. It made Tony Stark known to everyone. The suit, Iron Man, made Tony Stark a hero.
Tony Stark equals Iron Man.
Iron Man equals Tony Stark.
Tony Stark became a hero, and while he was on his journey to heroism, he discovered a way on how to become a Man.
I leave this question to you;
Becoming a Hero? Or, Becoming a Man?
